I strongly believe in our public education system and public service. I believe every student should benefit from a quality education and environment that produces a path for success. I believe in educational choices and parental rights. I was appointed to this position in February 2022 and elected in November 2022. During my time on the PCOE Board we addressed the rights of parents and students in the school setting. We have prioritized accelerated learning and achievement within our programs. We have established relationships with school districts and school boards throughout the county. We have advocated for students in PCOE programs and public education. I served on the Roseville Joint Union High School District Board for five years, including as Board President in 2020 and 2021. Under my term we were a leader in bringing students back to the classroom earlier than any other school district, while offering alternatives to those families not ready to return in person. I am a commercial banker, who has a deep understanding of finances and have developed a great understanding of school financing during my time on the board. I would humbly ask for your vote to continue my service in education.
About Andrew
Andrew Tagg was first appointed to the Placer County Board of Education in February 2022 and was then elected to serve in November 2022.
Professionally, Andrew serves as the Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking for First Northern Bank and brings more than 30 years of finance expertise to the County Board. He has served as a school board trustee, and former Board President, for the Roseville Joint Union High School District and has been intricately involved in the south Placer community. He was also appointed to the City of Roseville Economic Development Advisory Committee in June 2024. Andrew has solidified relationships with business leaders, community leaders, educators and members of local nonprofit organizations. He has also served on the Placer Breast Cancer Foundation, City of Roseville Library Board, and Dry Creek school site councils.
Andrew earned his Bachelor of Arts in Social Science with an emphasis in Economics from California State University, Chico and completed the prestigious CBA Executive Banking School at Furman University.
Andrew strongly believes in our public education system and in public service. He believes every student should benefit from a quality education and environment that produces a path for success. He and his wife are longtime Roseville residents and have a daughter who is the product of Placer County schools (Dry Creek and Roseville Joint Union High School District).
